Wattyl Paint Centres Sustainability

We say ‘yes’ to safety and sustainability. At Wattyl, our mission is to protect. This extends from our customers’ assets and businesses to the planet.

Paint is everywhere, from homes to office walls, car parks and urban architecture, it infiltrates the air we breathe and can harm the environment and our health. That’s why we develop products that meet and exceed Australian and global eco certifications and standards. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are found in many building materials, and are responsible in part for that “fresh paint” smell we’re all familiar with. But these chemicals also let off gasses that can be harmful to humans, animals and our environment. To combat this, the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) has established the Green Star market standards to control the level of VOC solvents that are included in paints during manufacture. At Wattyl, we take our responsibility for safety and environmental sustainability seriously – that’s why our products are designed to not only adhere to the Green Star standards, but in many cases to exceed these requirements. Speak to your local Wattyl Paint Centre staff to learn more about our commitment to safety and sustainability.

APAS - Australian Paint Approval Scheme

APAS certified manufacturing units and product certifications. About APAS: The Australian Paint Approval Scheme (APAS) is an independent 3rd party conformity and product prequalification scheme that tests and certifies all types of surface coating materials and associated products.
