Pacific Reef Fisheries gains ASC Certification
Pacific Reef Fisheries gained ASC certification for the Alva Beach Facility in 2018 for both its Black Tiger Prawn (Penaeus monodon) and Cobia (Rachycentron canadum) production. ASC certification is the highest global standard for responsible aquaculture and provides products that have no environmental or social impacts.
The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) is an independent, international non-profit organisation that manages the world’s leading certification for responsible and sustainable aquaculture. ASC works with seafood processors, conservation groups, retail and food services, scientists and aquaculture producers to ensure sustainable aquaculture practices now and in the future. ASC also safeguards that the social rights and safety of those who work at an aquaculture facility and live in the local communities are protected.
