Louis Vuitton Sustainability Actions

Sourcing Responsibly

Most of the raw materials used to make and protect Louis Vuitton products come from nature, whether they are derived from animal, plant, or mineral sources. Since these raw materials are not all renewable, we are committed to transparency and accountability throughout all of our supply chains. Our priorities are therefore to preserve resources including animal species, water, and energy, respect animal welfare, avoid deforestation, eliminate the use of hazardous chemicals, and reduce air and water pollution.

Acting on climate change

To reinforce our contribution to the objectives defined by the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement to limit the average global warming to 1.5 °C, Louis Vuitton is currently preparing a new action plan to align its emission reduction trajectory with scientific recommendations.

Committing to circular creativity

Louis Vuitton products are designed to last. At every stage of the creative process, we analyse the environmental impact of our creations throughout their entire life cycle: we preserve natural capital by using fewer raw resources, we find more efficient solutions for those we use, and we constantly strive to consume less and less energy to create our products.
