Born from our desire to minimize our footprint on the earth, our new range of leather alternative sneakers and heels are the first of their kind. MIRUM® is a high-quality, 100% biobased material that is vegan, durable, has a premium feel and raises the bar for sustainable fashion. Made from natural ingredients including citric acid, cotton, natural rubber and soybean oil, MIRUM® is a plant-based, plastic-free material designed to withstand your every day and then ultimately rejoin the Earth’s nutrient cycle, closing the loop.

Shoe Recycling

In partnership with Melbourne-based company, Save Our Soles, we transform pre-loved shoes into rubber mats for gym and playground flooring. To date, we have recycled 16,360 pairs of shoes and counting! Drop off your old shoes (Bared or not!) at any one of our stores, alternatively, post them to our warehouse.

The Portugal Edit

With years of experience in crafting traditional men's footwear, we manufacture the majority of our men’s range in Portugal. Using premium materials and timeless techniques, each pair is crafted from vegetable-tanned LWG-certified leather, Blake stitched and fitted with our B.plantfoam™ or sugarcane footbed.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

We're working hard to reduce the emissions we cause in manufacturing and distributing the shoes you love. We have partnered with Greenfleet, committing $95,000 to plant thousands of native species and offset over 5,380 tonnes of carbon! We understand that on its own, carbon offsetting doesn’t prevent global warming, but has a large part to play in the overall approach to carbon management.

Leather Working Group (LWG) Certified

We’re an official Leather Working Group (LWG) member and purchase 100% of our leathers from LWG-certified suppliers. Our leather products support responsible manufacturing via the Leather Working Group. We partnered with LWG in 2019 to reduce the environmental impact of leather production and work with our suppliers to source leather from LWG-rated tanneries. These tanneries must adhere to a strict protocol, focusing on energy and water usage, waste management, the control of chemicals and more. OUR SOURCING COMMITMENT: In addition, we ban the use of all exotic animal skins and any endangered species which appear on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species [CITES] or the International Union for Conservation of Natures Red List of Threatened Specifies.

Recycled Plastic

By using recycled plastic, we're preventing plastic from entering our ocean. Certified by the Global Recycling Standard (GRS), we've introduced recycled plastic into our range. Otherwise known as, rPET, it is manufactured by shredding used plastic into small flakes, the flakes are melted into pellets, and stretched into a thread.

Sugarcane Footbed

On our journey to make a better product, we started with our petroleum-based footbeds. In 2021, we introduced our 60% sugarcane footbeds. Sourced from Brazil, this is a renewable resource that grows quickly and relies on rainwater to thrive (not irrigation) and helps to remove carbon from the atmosphere in the process. While a great step, we continued to work towards increasing the bio content in our product. We’re proud to have introduced our B.plantfoam™ footbed. Made from 72% plant-based materials (USDA-certified biobased) with a carbon footprint of 3.85 kg CO2e, it reduces CO2 emissions by 70% compared to traditional petroleum-based footbeds.

Compostable Satchels

Our postage bags are compostable. Made from sustainable plants and non-toxic resin, these satchels will decompose when exposed to enough moisture and anything inside them. Since 2019, we have sent over 180,000 compostable satchels.
