How Bisley Workwear’s new sustainability program instils a clear purpose for positive transformation

On a mission to become the most responsible workwear brand, Bisley Workwear’s sustainability program, Bisley.POSITIVE, has been carefully designed to instil purpose for positive transformation across the organisation, and influence the wider industry.

The environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy is categorised within four key impact pillars: People, Planet, Product, and Prosperity, and provides a clear framework for decision making that aligns with global best practice.

With an ambition to achieve collective impact, The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), have been laced into the strategy to provide a standardised way of determining key material topics, and standardisation.

The SDGs were designed as a universal framework or “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.” Launched in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly, they are an interconnected set of 17 goals that address critical factors including the eradication of poverty and reduction of inequality, preservation of the natural environment including forests and oceans, improve health and wellbeing, whilst balancing the growth of the economy. 

Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and Goal 15: Life on Land, which address global issues such as inequality, consumption patterns and environmental degradation, are the four key goals that Bisley prioritises when making critical decisions.

The key to achieving goals within the program is ensuring cross-functional collaboration; a shared responsibility for achieving goals and bringing the mission to life. Bisley.POSITIVE is not only a purpose-based mission, but also a cultural transformation, one of its kind in the workwear industry.
